our gpsl is centered around the residents of the downtown gaslamp quarter neighborhood of san diego (referred to only by san diegans as "gaslamp district" -- so locals, take note!) it is a 16-square-block and 150 year old area of san diego, consisting of victorian-era buildings, modern skyscrapers, countless restaurants and nightclubs, and even padres stadium. this is a dynamic cosmopolitan district full of art, theatre, good food and plenty of history!

journals should be ic, with your ic and ooc contact posts backdated. please have an ooc post with a blurb/facts about your character prior to applying. don't cross ic/ooc lines, respect your fellow players, and don't be a bully. we are not restricting the amount or nature of storylines you may plan with other writers, in fact we encourage you to reach out in pbads for all kinds of connections to welcome those who may be looking for a new place to play. however, we want to encourage and emphasize organic growth in this community, so please keep this in mind.

we have no official update requirement but will need to see proof of activity before the end of each month. this means any kind of post visible on the friends page will count toward your activity. we want this gpsl to be a place you can feel a little more relaxed about meeting update requirements every month, but we will also be taking measures to remove dead weight who have not shown any signs of life without asking for a hiatus (no visible comments on the fp, an outdated friends list, etc.) if you're removed twice for inactivity, we ask that you do not continue to reapply your character.

member-run activities and clubs are encouraged and welcomed. all we ask is that you run any activity by the mods and get approval before setting it up, but aside from that we will give you free reign to come up with your own group ideas. whether these be ic clubs, update prompts, plot posts or more. tinder posts are allowed for custom exchanges. rabb.it, plug.dj and chats are allowed a maximum of once a week. we would prefer at this time that members do not create a wire for their characters.
